Superintendent Mark Madson sits down with student Esports Club Co-presidents Ryan Connors and Arleigh Shilling and their advisors Andrew Marth and JR Renna. Both the JV and Varsity Teams were Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Champions this year.
Esports describes the world of competitive, organized video gaming. Competitors from different leagues or teams face off in the same games that are popular with at-home gamers (think: Fortnite, League of Legends, and Madden NFL, to name a few). The streaming service Twitch allow viewers to watch as their favorite gamers play in real time. Students can gain college scholarships in esports in much the same fashion as a regular athlete.
